Abstract here
== Introduction ==
Terahertz radiation is a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum between 0.1 to 10Thz. It is sandwiched between the microwave and infra-red regions and it is unique in that it possess properties from both the electronics and photonics domain; in that it is non-conductive and non-ionising. Throughout the past few decades studies into this ‘gap’ of the electromagnetic spectrum has been increasing. In this project, studies will take advantage of the fact that biomolecules exhibit specific ‘spectral fingerprints’ within the terahertz range. Students will develop a 3D printed microfluidic chamber for terahertz spectroscopy to further understand the potential applications of spectroscopy as well as how to increase resolution of terahertz sensing. They will adopt skills in 3D printing, microfluidic fabrication and terahertz measurement.
