Difficult peripheral venous access involves different factors such as skin color, infant's vein used to be small and deep, obesity causes too much lipid in the skin layers. Therefore, different techniques-based methods have been developed to try increasing the possibility of venous access to different kinds of patients.

Introduction

This project is to discuss different techniques that can assist the implantation of venipuncture and cannulation by detecting the possible site for peripheral venous access, developing a system for better clinical guidance for venipuncture and cannulation, composed of hardware plus image processing method based on the knowledge of physical quantities of human tissue, such as the response of hemoglobin to a different wavelength.
