Projects:2020s2-7413 Investigating and Developing Approaches for Accurate Vein Finding for Venepuncture and Cannulation Applications
The process of collecting blood as a sample is called Venepuncture. The clinician needs to implement venepuncture into different patients to collect their blood samples which for the patient health diagnosis to predict or catch any warning signs of different diseases. However, the procedure of venepuncture is still can be treated as art and science, the clinician sometimes finds it nearly impossible to be carried out due to the difficulty of peripheral venous access. Difficult peripheral venous access involves different factors such as skin color, infant's vein used to be small and deep, obesity causes too much lipid in the skin layers. Therefore, different techniques-based methods have been developed to try increasing the possibility of venous access to different kinds of patients.
